Principal

Over the course of a career in non-profit leadership, Ngozi Okaro has led higher education, social justice, and community-based organizations to identify and meet their missions. She has developed expertise in resource development, strategic planning and

operations, and leadership development, with a special focus on early-stage and growth-stage enterprises. As Visiting Fellow at Africa America Institute, Ngozi stewards capacity-building and research projects initiated during her tenure as Executive Director of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation. Ngozi’s background also includes leading fundraising programs and initiatives at organizations including National Urban League and its affiliates, Brooklyn Hospital Center, INSEAD, Yale, and leading programs and operations at Phipps Community Development Corporation. Ngozi Okaro graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center and from Morgan State University. She is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and New York; she practiced law for several years before transitioning to a relationship development and management position at Yale University. Among other distinctions, she is certified by New York University’s Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, and is a graduate of the Coro Leadership New York program. Ngozi is presently enrolled at The American College of Financial Services in the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy program.
